Our Chihuahua Puppies

Will's parent's have chihuahuas at their house. At every meal they gather at the table and beg for food. Last night the girls both went straight to Will to beg for some cereal. It was really funny. It reminded him of his parent's house. So we affectionately refer to them as our pink chihuahuas. (Hope I spelled it right!)

Page's Half Birthday!

Today is Page's half birthday. Since she was bornon Christmas Day we planned on celebrating her birthday on June 25th. We decided to postpone the celebration since we have no family around and only have one friend here in Dallas. Maybe next year. She looks so grown up in just 6 months! I can't believe how big she is getting!

Fun at the Mall

We took the girls to the Galleria last night for some fun. There is a children's play area in the middle of the mall and I had a gift certificate to Banana Republic I wanted to use. Here are some of the pictures from the play area. The girls had a great time climbing and playing with all the kids. There was a little girl who hit page with her car toy, OUCH! Page's finger was red or the rest of the night she hit her so hard. We decided to leave shortly after that and do some shopping.

More Presents!!

Maw Maw and Paw Paw sent another package this week. Inside were tons of clothes that my mom's neighbor had picked up at a garage sale and these HUGE stuffed animals that hold fleece blankets. Whoever had these clothes before spent a fortune, every item was in perfect condition and from Ralph Lauren, Gymboree, Gap. I will take garage sale clothes any time that look like these clothes. Thank you Mrs. Renee for thinking of us way over here. Page's blanket had princess written all over it and came with a pink cat. Pink and princess is really all Page cares about these days so this present was a huge hit. She even used the cardboard wrapped around the blanket as a crown. I think we have been reading Fancy Nancy a bit too much. Emma's blanket was purple with cute monkeys all over it. Emma of course did not care much about the blanket but she really took to cuddling with that monkey. Page had fun pulling Emma around the house on her blanket and Emma loved that her sister was playing with her in such a kind and non physical way! Thanks for the presents, but please don't send anymore stuffed animals that size again. I am running out of room in the new house!

Domestic Diva in the Making

I started doing cakes for parties and have one this weekend. It is a white cake with white chocolate mousse and raspberry puree. Page loved the mousse so much that she was scraping the bowl with her fingers to get every bit out that she could. I was also trying something with red food dye and she got a hold of that too. You can see exactly what she did with it. Straight to the mouth! She loves to help me when I am baking and this morning was no different. Between the cooking and cleaning I am figuring that as a teenager I will be dishing out a small fortune for her allowance!

Evenflo baby contest

Sorry to say that Emma did not make it to the finals in the baby contest. Thank you to everyone who voted, I appreciate every single vote!

This is a picture of the girls playing together in Emma's room. I was snapping pictures trying to get some cute shots and managed to get this picture of Page with her hand around Emma's throat. Does anyone else think that this is starting to become a habit?

Update

I got my lab results back from the doctor today. My Hcg levels are at 5. 0-5 is considered normal, so they are not going to do any more tests and considering it to be nothing. Yeah for me!

I still haven't heard anything about the baby contest. They haven't posted any winners yet or sent me an email saying whether we won. I will be sure to post when I get the results.

Fun in the Sun

We had such a relaxing day yesterday. It wasn't scorching hot and we were able to spend some time in the pool. Will got in with the girls, which they loved and I took tons of pictures. This one was the best. I love the sweetness of this moment. I was trying to get a picture of Will with the girls, but just as I was about to snap the picture Page leaned over and gave Emma a kiss. I hope everyone had a great weekend.

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day Will. You are such an incredible father to our 2 girls. I asked Page this morning what she loved most about her daddy. This is what she said: "He wipes; my buggers, plays Candy Land with me and watches movies with me, I love my daddy." It was so sweet and so sincere. When I asked Emma she replied with a raspberry, which she does get on a very regular basis from her daddy. So on this day I honor you, as the father of our girls and as my wonderful husband. I could not have imagined a better father or husband. You are a gift to me and our girls are blessed to have you as their father. (This is a very old picture, but one of the few I could find. Who takes pictures of themselves when they have kids?!)

Amy, I am so sorry

My dear friend Amy Prestridge Mattox lost her aunt to a long hard battle of cancer this week. The funeral was held in Natchez yesterday for their family and friends. Aunt Libby was very close to all who knew her. She was a mighty woman of faith and continued to support and encourage people even as they came to see her in her last days. I know that the Prestridge family will miss her more than words can say, but I also know that they are grateful that Aunt Libby is with Jesus now and out of pain. My prayers and my sincere sympathy go out to you Amy and to all of your family.

Fancy Nancy

Nonna and Poppy sent another package to the girls. It was supposed to be Emma's 10 month birthday present, but you can't send Emma something without sending Page something! Page got a book called Fancy Nancy. It is really adorable and has been read more times in the past day than I care to count! After reading the Fancy book this morning, Page wanted to be fancy and wear her dress to breakfast. Emma got a Peekaboo book with the Sesame Street characters and she loves it. This is the first book Emma has actually sat still long enough to have a book read to her. She is even pulling down the hands all by herself and smiling at the characters when she sees their faces. Emma also got 2 new summer outfits and the girls got matching dresses. I actually thought the dresses were going to be too big, but they fit great. I can't believe how big they are getting. Thanks for the gifts Nonna and Poppy. We can't wait to see you in August.

Happy 10 Months Emma!

Today is Emma's 10 month birthday! Poor baby had a terrible morning. Page woke us up at 2:00 a.m. crying about her ear hurting her. So I called the doctor this morning and took both girls in to see her. It took 2 hours for both of them to be seen and the diagnosis is that Page has an ear infection - her first one ever - in her right ear and Emma has one in her left ear. We were there so long Emma missed her entire nap and Page did not get a snack, this makes her VERY cranky. (Page still eats every 2 hours and has since she was born!) Emma was so tired when we got home that I put her down for a nap and she slept through her lunch. After the girls woke up we picked up their prescriptions and headed to Target to pick up some brownie mix to celebrate Emma's birthday. I didn't have time or energy to make a cake this morning.
Today is the last day to vote for Emma. Please vote one last time and I will be sure to pass on the information as soon as I know anything. Thanks again.

Yard Work

We had such a busy day today. I had a doctor's appointment this morning. Page came with me and got a ton of prizes from the nurses. While they were taking blood one of the nurses took her to the break room and gave her a juice box and bowl of grapes. Then while I was talking to another nurse Page was off getting 2 whole pages of stickers, a Hello Kitty band-aid and a glove blown up to look like Chicken Little. She was squealing her way out of the office she was so happy. I got my test results back from the D&C and there was a problem so they took blood 3 weeks after the surgery with the villi. They were enlarged and indicated a molar pregnancy. To diagnose this or rule it out I had my Hcg levels checked 3 weeks after surgery. My body still had Hcg and so I had to do a repeat blood check to see if they would go down to 0. If it doesn't go down then I guess the doctor will talk to me about what that means and what to do. If it is at 0 then it was just a regular miscarriage. I should have the results back by Friday.
Will took off of work today and we FINALLY got our Texas driver's license. It was very quick and extremely painless! Nothing like the DMV's in Louisiana. Then the girls came home for a 3 hour nap!!!!!! That was the definite highlight of the day, week, month, etc...
Tonight we did some yard work and I got some cute pics of the girls. Page is trying to teach Emma how to do an arabesque in the ones with them together. The one of Emma by herself is her tasting the grass. She rather liked it and threw quite a fit when I removed it from her mouth.

Roseola

We discovered a rash on Emma tonight while giving her a bath. It practically covered her entire torso by the time she was done. Page had Roseola as a baby and we are thinking that Emma has it too. She had a pretty high fever last week and none this week and the rash came out of nowhere! All you nurses out there please post your thoughts. We will probably bring her in to the doctor tomorrow, but I would like to hear your thoughts. Thanks, If she weren't sleeping I would give you a picture to look at. I'll post one in the morning.

A Time To Learn

Here are some pics of Page trying to teach Emma how to build towers with the legos. It was so cute when Page would put her arm around Emma and tell her what to do. It is so much fun to watch them play together. I knew there was a positive to having them so close together. I am starting to see the friendship growing between them and it makes all of the trouble of having them so close together completely worth it!

Sharing

I gave Page some Kix in a cup for a snack yesterday. Emma was playing in the playroom and Page was sitting on the floor of the kitchen. I walked back into the kitchen and they were sharing Kix with each other. It was so sweet! I was quite relieved that I had given Page something that Emma could eat for a snack that day, it could have been disastrous!

Sick Page

Page and Emma have both been sick for the past week. Emma was sleeping and I was making lunch when I realized that Page was being very quiet. I found her on my bed staring into space and completely out of it. I went to turn the stove off and when I walked back to the room I found Page face first on the bed asleep. The medicine I have been giving her is making her extremely tired, she is falling asleep in the car all the time and she hasn't done that since she was a baby.

Watching Baby Praise

The girls are watching their favorite movie, Baby Praise, together. It is very much like Baby Einstein but with praise and worship music in the background instead of classical music. I do realize that Emma is naked in the majority of the pictures I post, but she HATES clothes and pulls at the arms and screams whenever I put them on her so when we are hanging out at home, I don't fight it.
They are playing together so well these days. I still have to watch Page pretty closely, but even that is lessening now that Emma will fight back. She will scream at Page or start crying and throw herself on the ground. Page hates to see her like that so she will give Emma back whatever toy she had taken from her!

The Quiet Game

Page would not stop talking tonight! She didn't even eat dinner because she was so busy talking...about anything and everything. It was a complete stream of consciousness not unlike "The Sound and the Fury." Will asked Page if she knew how to play the quiet game. He explained how it worked and counted 1, 2, 3. Page continued counting for him, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 13, 15, 14, 13, 15, 14, 13, 15, 14. It was like a broken record. (And forget correcting her counting. She tells me she is right and I am wrong.) She just couldn't keep quiet for anything tonight. I am going to have a quiet bath and relish in the silence!

Keep up that voting! Thanks!

Sunglasses

Here are pics of the sunglasses Nonna and Poppy sent to the girls. Emma was not thrilled with the idea of having sunglasses on, but she kept them on long enough for me to get a shot. Page loves hers and Emma's.

I have included a link again, for the vote for Emma page. Hope you guys don't mind! Thanks to everyone for voting.

Sippy Cup Success

We have finally had success with the sippy cup! We introduced it at 7 months, which is when Page started drinking from one at meal time. Emma has refused to even try for
2 1/2 months. Last night I was feeding her and she actually picked up the cup and started drinking from it! We were cheering and clapping for her so much that she didn't want to do anything else for the rest of hte meal, including eating.

Thank you to everyone who has voted for Emma, please remember that you can vote every day through the 15th. Her is the link again:
