It's Official!!!

The bathroom is finally done. I have lost a lot of blood and sweat this week over this bathroom. Grouting is a job that no woman should ever have to undertake! We listed the house this week and are finishing up the last few things that needed to be done. Here are the pictures of the bathroom that cost way too much money and time! It is now Liam's favorite spot in the house, so we had to have him in the pictures as well. By the way, he can climb on top of the bench and into the sink. We found him playing there after stepping out of the bathroom for a few seconds. That boy is fast!
I would like to take this time to thank Will's parents. Without their help during this remodeling, we would not have a bathroom that looks this pretty and that actually functions well :-). So thanks you millions, trillions, bazillions! We will never be able to repay you for all of your help. You have been such a blessing to us and we are SOOOOOOOOOOOO thankful!

Emma's Birthday Dress

Emma had her 3 year portraits taken on the morning of her party. This is the dress I got for her. Unfortunately, she did not line it very much and she was not feeling well so I did not get any pictures of her in the dress other than these. She can be a real stinker when she wants to be. I am going to have her portraits taken again next month, hopefully she will be in a better mood the day I pick!

Emma's Birthday Party

Just before Emma's party she got a special phone call from Snow White! She was so surprised that it took her the entire phone call to realize what was happening. Emma does not like to be the center of attention, so the cake and the presents were a bit awkward for her. She says she had a good time, but I don't think she talked to anyone the entire party. She was so overwhelmed. Emma and Liam enjoyed some Rice Dream, that is ice cream made with rice milk for you non-allergy sufferers out there. Liam LOVED it so much that he screamed for a second bowl. Of course he got a second helping :) After the party we loaded everyone up and drove out to Frisco to show Will's parents where he worked and to check out some neighborhoods. We ate dinner out that night and finally made it home around 8:00. Liam was so tired that he whined for almost 2 hours and Emma got very loud and obnoxious she was so tired. It was a long day, but we had a great time. Sunday was a little lower key. We worked on the house and brought Will's parents to the airport. Monday the kids took a 4 hour nap! It was amazing.

Emma's Day

After we picked up Nonna and Poppy at the airport it was time to bring them home and unload the gifts. Liam got a Mike the tiger that he LOVES! Page got a new LSU cheerleading uniform, and Emma got more things than I can remember. She also got an LSU cheerleading outfit and a new bedspread that she picked out. It is so beautiful. (I will get some pictures of her bed soon.) I put Liam down for a nap and headed to the doctor. My pregnancy hormones still were high, so I had to get blood draws until they went down to normal. They finally are. Then I came home and made lunch and sang happy birthday to Emma and had cup cakes. After Liam woke up we headed to the mall to go to the Disney store. Emma picked out the purple shoes pictured above and a Minnie Mouse plate set and school bag. Page got a princess school bag and Liam got a Mickey Mouse plate set. Then the kids played at the fountain while I did some shopping. Page made her way INTO the fountain and the day was over. The kids were worn out so I put them down for a late nap and made spaghetti and meatballs for Emma, per her request. She said that she had a great day, but wanted to know when her birthday was. She was confused by her birthday and her birthday party not being on the same day.

Emma Turned Three, Yippee!!!

Emma turned 3 on Friday, August 15. We had to wake the kids up very early for presents and breakfast because Nonna and Poppy were flying in and had to be picked up at the airport for 8:00. We had wrapped each of her presents individually and placed them on the living room table. She said "these are all for me!" with a big smile on her face. She had so much fun opening all the presents. Page was chomping at the bit to get her hands in there too. (It was a rough weekend for Page.) Then we had breakfast and headed off to the airport. Those pictures and stories for tomorrow!

Gymnastics

Here are my little gymnasts. We let them stay up the night of the women's team all around competition. Emma fell asleep at 9:00, she couldn't sit up anymore. Page managed to stay up until 10:30. She fell asleep after the vault rotation, so she only got to see one rotation, but she was so happy.

They held the Olympics at class yesterday. Page was so disappointed that they did not hand out medals, just papers with their skills and scores on them, that I made both girls their own medals at home that afternoon. I cut circles out of some gold scrapbook paper and punched a hole in the top. Then I put a big, bright, hot pink, satin bow through it and tied it around their necks. They came out so cute and the girls loved them!

Emma's New Kitchen

I am so far behind with Emma's birthday pictures. I will post a few each day this week to spread them out a little. Emma got a new kitchen set from Maw Maw and Paw Paw. I had taken her to Target to look around and she kept going back to the kitchen. I told her that we already had a kitchen at home and she looked at me with the look of a teenager raging with hormones and said "but that one is UGLY, this one is soooo beautiful!" That was all Maw Maw needed to hear to buy Emma her new kitchen. Thanks so much, the kids are loving it, even Liam! By the way, the one of Emma looking a little less than excited is when she first woke up I was in the living room and snapped a picture of her, confused and not very happy with me for taking a picture.

More On Gymnastics

As if the excitement of the Olympic men's gymnastics medal last night was not enough, I got more good news today. The director, where we have the girls in gymnastics, came out of the gym after class was over to speak with me. They want to move Page to the Junior All-star team. They said that she is the youngest member they have had and that she is showing great promise. Karen, the director, said that she shows a great deal of physical maturity and strength. They want to move her to two lessons a week instead of one starting next month. It is the pre-competitive team that is basically training for the competitive team after she turns 6. I told her that she would be moving to a new class next month and that she would get to do more fun things in class. She wanted to know if her teacher would be the same. (I think it will be.) Then she was so excited to get to go 2x's a week instead of just one and reiterated how she wants to do this every day! You can see by the photos that she uses whatever she can find to "play" gymnastics at home. I wonder if we have an Olympian on our hands? :-)
