We celebrated our Risen Lord yesterday and it was so wonderful! Each of the kids woke up on their own one after another so we were able to spend time with each one going through their basket of goodies. Page was first, Liam was second and Emma was third. Once all three were up we had an indoor egg hunt because the weather was so horrible outside. Then we had Resurrection rolls and fruit salad for breakfast and headed to church. We had lunch and then a nap and spent the rest of the day playing with the kids. They got little nets in their baskets and went hunting for minnows and tadpoles in the creek behind the house once the weather cleared up a little. They happened upon a momma duck and her ducklings while on their adventure. Liam ended up soaking wet up to his chest and the girls' up to their knees. So we had bath time then dinner and more playing in the playroom with the kids where they pretty much ran in circles around the room. They were wired! I let them have candy whenever they asked in the hopes that they would either eat it all quickly or get sick of it. I think it is working. They ate about half of their candy yesterday and are quickly going through it today. I think we will be done with it by tomorrow. I just figured that it was better than having candy in the house for the next 3 months and having them ask for it constantly. I also had the added bonus of really enjoying saying yes to the kids all day. They were so pleasant and Liam was really having fun with it. It just felt good since I feel like I am always saying don't do this or you can't have that. Not to mention I won't be tempted to eat their candy for the next few months :) It has been a win-win all the way around and I will do it again next year.
